Getting started with SAP Business Application Studio

Step 1: To access the SAP HANA Cloud Cockpit, you can start by searching for it on Google. Once you have the search results, look for the link that leads to the official SAP website.

Step 2: Once you click on the link, you will be directed to a page that displays two options - "Sign in" and "Register." If you already have an account, you can simply sign in using your credentials. However, if you don't have an account, you will need to create one by clicking on the "Register" button.Step 3: After clicking on the "Register" button on the SAP HANA Cloud Cockpit page, you will be directed to a registration form. 

Step 4: Fill in all the required details in the form, such as your full name, email address, password, and other relevant information. Make sure to provide accurate information as it will be used to create your account. 

Step 5: Once you have filled in all the required details, review the information to ensure it is correct, and then click on the "Submit" button to create your account.

Step 6: After submitting your registration form for SAP HANA Cloud Cockpit, you should receive an email from SAP with instructions on how to activate your account. 

Step 7: Open the email and locate the activation button at the bottom of the email. Click on the button to activate your account. 

Step 8: Once your account is activated, you will be redirected to a page where you can set your password. Choose a strong and secure password that you can easily remember but is difficult for others to guess. Enter the password in the required fields and then click on the "Save" button to set your password. From there, you can access the SAP HANA Cloud Cockpit and start exploring its features.


Step 9: After setting your password, you can proceed to log in to the SAP HANA Cloud Cockpit using your email address and new password. 

Step 10: Once you have logged in, you will be prompted to accept the terms and conditions before you can start using the platform. The terms and conditions page may appear similar to the image below. To accept the terms and conditions, carefully review the terms and then click on the "Accept" button at the bottom of the page. 

Step 11: This will enable you to fully access the SAP HANA Cloud Cockpit and all its features.


Step 12: Congratulations! You have successfully created your account on the SAP HANA Cloud Cockpit, activated it, set your password, and accepted the terms and conditions. You can now access the platform and explore its many features and capabilities. Enjoy using SAP HANA Cloud Cockpit!. 

Step 13: Click on Trial Home

Launch SAP Business Application Studio

What is SAP Business Application Studio?

  • SAP business application studio is the development environment for creating SAPUI5 applications.

  • It is a cloud based development environment tool for building and extending standard sap applications.
  • In this blog, I will show how to set up the SAP business application studio for creating SAPUI5 applications. 

Step 14: Login into SAP BTP Cockpit.Please select a country. For example, you could select 'US East' or choose a different option. After selecting the desired country, please proceed to click on 'create account'.


Step 15: Below is the screen that you should be able to see. To continue, please click on the 'Continue' button.


Step 16: After clicking on 'Continue', the screen below should appear. Click on "Go To Your Trail Account"


Step 17: Below screen should appear. A trial sub account is generated automatically when creating an SAP BTP Trial account. Click on the trail account.


Step 18: Click on the Service Marketplace.


Step 19: You should see the screen below. Please use the search bar to look for 'SAP Business Application Studio'. Click on the three dots and you can see the options similar to the image below, select 'Go to application.



Step 20: This will open an external URL like the image below. Click on Create Dev Space.


  • Step 21: Provide a name for the development space and then click on 'Create Dev Space'.


Step 21: After clicking on 'Create Dev Space', you should see an image similar to the one below, with the status displayed as 'Starting'.


Step 22: Once the status changes to 'Running', you will see that 'My Space' is highlighted in blue color like the image. Click on your Dev space name.



Step 23: Congratulations! You have successfully created a SAP Business Application Studio account.
